As the Wayne-Sanderson Farms 2024 Summer Internship Program has concluded, we proudly highlight the contributions and achievements of our talented interns. Their dedication and innovation have made a significant impact on our company and the industry. Today, we are shining a spotlight on Camron Parker who interned at the company’s Laurel, Mississippi complex. This summer, Camron’s internship project was focused on two main tasks, conducting comprehensive research on chicken breast products and addressing packaging waste reduction. “These dual responsibilities provided me with a holistic understanding of poultry health management and sustainable practices within the food industry,” said Camron. “The work I have done at Wayne-Sanderson Farms has provided me with practical skills, industry insights, and a solid foundation in both poultry health management and sustainable practices, enhancing my readiness for a successful career in the agricultural or food industry.” Throughout the 12-week program, interns receive dedicated mentorship from a sponsor, and the local team is committed to fostering continuous learning and professional development opportunities each day for interns at their complex. “My sponsor provided invaluable guidance and support throughout my internship. Additionally, my dedicated team members welcomed me warmly, fostering a collaborative environment where I learned from their expertise and shared experiences.” For Camron, Wayne-Sanderson Farms provided the ideal environment to gain real-world work experience. “[Wayne-Sanderson Farms’] emphasis on sustainable agriculture and continuous innovation aligns perfectly with my career goals and values. Last week, Wayne-Sanderson Farms concluded our 2024 summer internship program with a celebratory reception at our Corporate Office in Oakwood, Georgia, honoring the remarkable efforts and achievements of our interns. The celebration continued the next day as our interns were given the opportunity to showcase their innovative summer projects through presentations to company senior leaders. Our interns gained invaluable experience in the poultry industry during the past 12-weeks, and we are grateful for the fresh perspectives and creativity they brought to the company. We are excited to witness the amazing things these future industry leaders will accomplish! #MakingChickenAmazing

Wayne-Sanderson Farms' Bryan, Texas complex recently welcomed the Governor Dolph Briscoe Jr., Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) Program for an informative tour. This event aimed to educate cohort members on the poultry industry's significant role in delivering high-quality, affordable protein to consumers, highlighting our company’s commitment to excellence and leadership in agriculture. The TALL program is a two-year, comprehensive leadership enhancement program administered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service designed to educate the next generation of agriculture leaders by providing a foundation established on the ideals of leadership, issue and policy awareness, and basic agricultural principles. We take pride in educating the future leaders of the agriculture industry on the ways that Wayne-Sanderson Farms is #MakingChickenAmazing!

Last week, team members from Wayne-Sanderson Farms gathered at our Regional Office in Laurel, MS for the July session of the RiSE Leadership Development Program. RiSE—Refining, Influencing, Stewarding, Excellence—is an 8-month program designed to identify high-performing leaders with significant potential. The program offers these leaders opportunities for growth and development by exposing them to diverse perspectives, practical material, and development coaches who provide guidance and an objective voice. This empowers leaders to refine, influence, and steward excellence throughout the organization. During this month's session, the cohort engaged with company leaders on topics such as culture, leadership principles, and servant leadership, while also participating in networking and experiential learning activities. #MakingChickenAmazing

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is proudly joining forces with Taste of the South as one of the Capitol-level sponsors of its 41st annual charity gala in Washington D.C. today!
