🚀 Advocating for a Better WIOA Bill 🚀 The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) aims to reskill workers for in-demand jobs, but its current structure often funnels people into low-wage, high-turnover positions. Studies show minimal long-term benefits, with many trainees stuck in dead-end roles. Congress has a chance to reform WIOA. Let's push for training programs that ensure living wages, benefits, and career advancement. Models like California's High Road Training Partnerships prove it's possible. It's time to align federal job training with worker prosperity. #WIOAReform #WorkforceDevelopment #EconomicOpportunity National Association of Workforce Boards https://lnkd.in/g4bFkeFG

In their own words, "WWP is the Workforce Development Board serving Linn, Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties. The Workforce Development Board brings together a myriad of employment, training, and educational services which comprise a comprehensive system that supports the development of the area’s workforce." The Chamber has long been a partner of WWP, sharing valuable employment resources and programs, to our members. After that initial meeting, Gregg identified a Board of Directors and began to establish BeBLAC’s mission and goals. BeBLAC’s mission is to develop and grow the Black community through generational leadership, partnering and supporting Black owned, run, and operated businesses/nonprofits, and strengthening Black families.
