What do you do if you're a beginner in marketing and want to learn the most important tools?
Learn the vocabulary of marketing as much and as fast as you can, but more importantly than that, learn how to learn from your customers. Develop the skill set of researching and speaking to customers and non-customers to find out how people really think about your market, your product, and your competition. Marketing is always about people, tools and tactics are only as useful as your understanding of the people in your market.
