⭐ FRIDAY EVENING VSO ⭐ ⭐ Intent to File Outreach Campaign ⭐ * VA has an aggressive targeted outreach campaign—using e-mail, text messages, and phone calls—to reach approximately 300,000 Veterans and survivors who submitted Intent to File (ITF) claims between June 1 and August 14, 2023. The campaign reminds them to complete their claims no later than one year after starting a claim or filing an ITF. * The outreach campaign begins on May 23 with 100,000 emails and continues through mid-August. * The ITF process is in place to give claimants more time to prepare and collect supporting evidence for their claims. It also protects the earliest potential effective date for any benefits resulting from claims based on the PACT Act. *This means any PACT Act-related ITF received on or before August 14, 2023, is potentially eligible for the August 10, 2022, effective date as long as a claim is received within a year of the ITF.    * Claimants have a specific timeframe of up to one year from the date the VA receives their ITF to submit a formal claim. For instance, if the VA receives an ITF on August 8, 2023, the claimant must file their complete claim by August 8, 2024, to avoid forfeiting the potential effective date for granted PACT Act claims on August 10, 2022. The briefing explains each section of the job opportunity announcement (JOA) in an effort to better inform applicants and to assist them in selecting in or out of the job. The main part of the briefing uses a 3-part process to assist applicants in writing their resume. Questions for Veterans that have transitioned and active Talent Managers. Recently approved for retirement 1 Jun 25 w/22 years service & MBA. My question is about the timeline between job search and application? Positions listed this far out will be filled before retirement date and companies that are on the personal “wish list” do not have openings listed this far out. What is the happy medium here? ‘Google says’ 2-3 months before availability to apply…. Access to healthcare is often a concern for transitioning service members….particularly junior TSM with families. One thing I always bring up is TRICARE TAMP. Not everyone will be qualified, but there’s several different pathways for eligibility. My opinion. The is a very good benefit, that’s often overlooked (healthcare) and PLANNED for. There’s a few other options, but a little less control in regards to planning. 1. New Job (timing is s HUGE factor) 2. VA (veteran) 3. CHAMPVA (for families that meet eligibility) 4. Search healthcare . gov 5. TRICARE CHCBP (super expensive). You better call Tyrone

Just a couple of updates as I am getting a lot of questions: 1) An ESS is a 1740 under the GS / NAF systems. But, we call the person in this role the VolEd PM or VolEd Chief for the Marine Corps. 2) Yeah, the person may be able to telework, but this is not a remote position. 3) Yes, this person sits on the InterService Voluntary Education Board and represents the MC’s Voluntary Education position with the other VolEd Service Chiefs and OSD. 4) No, this is not a GS position. We are NAF. Hope this information helps folks decide if the position is a good fit.
