How can you create an inclusive performance management system that supports career progression?
At many organizations, career paths are difficult for diverse individuals to envision because they don't see people like them growing at the org. Diverse candidates need to know exactly where the stepping stones are, and it can't be one linear path. Traditional career paths are promotions from Assistant to Management under the same team structure. That just doesn't fit team members whose lives and interests aren't traditional. Gartner published a great guide called "Career Pathing Should Be Like Satellite Navigation". What I appreciated about this guide is it showed how every org can provide a clear line of sight for how all team members can grow in an organization. Ie. creating ways to experience career options in a personalized way.
