When athletes or workers ask for more compensation, they frequently fail to consider the wider economic effects of their demands. Professional athletes who want to be paid more need to realize that the leagues are companies. Increased pay results in a large reduction in profits, therefore leagues are forced to find ways to stay afloat. It is illogical to assume that more money will lead to fewer games; alternatively, leagues can lengthen the season or raise player requirements to offset the greater costs. This situation is comparable to the business world. Workers who seek better pay must understand that businesses must balance these expenses while continuing to be profitable. Raising the bar for production is frequently the outcome of this equilibrium. Increased pay may cause businesses to either lay off workers—a decision that is never preferred but occasionally has to be made to survive—or increase demands made of their current staff. Tom Brady's lessons on perseverance and overcoming hardship apply to this situation. Employees need to be flexible and prepared to achieve higher standards, much like athletes. The road to success in both areas is knowing the state of the economy and reacting with a proactive, problem-solving attitude. This means that players need to be aware of the financial realities of their leagues and ready to fulfill the responsibilities that come with them. For workers, this entails realizing that increased compensation entails greater demands and figuring out how to add more value to the organization. The most important lesson is ultimately evident: to succeed in any sector, one must strike a balance between reasonable expectations and just pay. For mutual growth and sustainability, businesses and employees, leagues and athletes, must collaborate. Colombia 6 = 46% of total of players Mexico 9 = 33% total of players Venezuela 95 = 33% total of players Dominican R 72 = 24% total of players Panama 4 = 21% total of players If an International Draft comes into the equation, it's possible that most of these 186 players will have a much higher valuation.
