    Award recognizes innovative approaches to serving older adults. Front Porch Center for Innovation & Wellbeing was selected based on its plan and toolkit for bringing to life the potential of Amazon Alexa and other virtual personal assistants for maintaining older adults’ independence.

    Award recognizes innovative approaches to serving older adults. The Front Porch Center for
    Innovation and Wellbeing was honored for it's work in launching the Piers Project to address the needs and concerns of older adults online by promoting education and awareness of cyber security.

  • Excellence in Technology - Bronze Award in Dignity

    McKnight's

    The Dignity category recognizes a facility or community that harnesses technology to improve the level of dignity its residents enjoy. Two of the Center’s programs, Sing fit and Music and Memory, were key contributors to the award. Both are music-based interventions that harness technology to improve wellbeing of residents.

  • Excellence in Technology - Gold Award in High Tech/High Touch

    McKnight's

    Biscuit is not a real puppy, but the animatronic dog provides very real benefits for memory care residents of the Front Porch Center for Innovation and Wellbeing. The nonprofit has achieved such success with Biscuit that independent judges chose Front Porch to receive the Gold Award in the High Tech/High Touch category of the 2013 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards.

  • Spirit of Innovation Award

    LTC & Senior Living LINK

    Front Porch earned a Spirit of Innovation Award for the Center's eHealth initiative that uses broadband-enabled technologies to create an ecosystem of care for an underserved population of diverse and linguistically-isolated seniors through digital health literacy, remote patient monitoring, tele-consultations, and medication monitoring.
