You want to get promoted in corporate communications. What metrics should you be tracking?
Tracking hard metrics for Comms can require a little bit of creativity and being a self-starter when it comes to designing your own system for measurement. Some thoughts: - TO/FROM Tracker: Create a table of what the past message is and what the new message is, and all of the activities and proof points that demonstrate the shift. - Get access to website analytics. Track site traffic and sources that are attributable to PR efforts. - For external PR, create a tiered scoring system based on prio outlet/reporter. Set targets for tier 1/2/3 that factor in both audience relevance as well as total reach. Report on progress to target.
