Throughout my career, I’ve found the best way to stay in touch is following two guidelines: 1. Never leave a conversation without the next scheduled The easiest way to forget to follow-up is to leave it up in the air when you’ll connect next. If you can't schedule the meeting, discuss a cadence in which it makes sense for both parties to connect, it'll help hold you both accountable. 2. Add personal flair and details to the conversation Make it personal, find out details about them and draw on that in your follow-up conversations. This will show you’re keen to keeping the relationship going, and will start to eliminate the small talk as a connection fosters into a relationship.

It's easy for sales people to get caught up in the new shiny tool, use it heavily on the frontend but then dwindle down in their use of the resource. Constantly evaluating how the team is using each tool in their belt, the pros and cons to these tools, and trying to have data to back up the use will help you determine which tools to continue on with, which may make sense to drop down a tier or eliminate entirely and which you perhaps want to see if there are ways you can optimize your usage by purchasing access to additional features. The most important thing to remember is this is constantly going to change. What your team needs / uses one year may look drastically different the next.

Most tools out there have a client team that will readily assist you in establishing a demo. Depending on the number of users allowed during a demo stage, select the team members you trust most heavily to thoroughly use and evaluate the tool during the demo. If it is a 1 month trial, request weekly check-ins with the tool's account rep. You want to ensure your team is accurately and thoroughly utilizing all aspects of the tool in order to make an appropriate evaluation of whether of not it will support your needs.

It's incredibly rare that you will need to entirely reinvent the wheel, chances are someone in your network has implemented tools or looked to tools to solve similar problems. During your research, rely on those in your network to see what they have implemented, why they chose the tool they did, and how it is performing for their team.

Engage with your audience by responding to comments, addressing concerns, and participating in conversations. Consistency in your messaging and brand image across different social platforms helps establish a reliable and recognizable presence. Additionally, highlight the human side of your brand by sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, introducing team members, and celebrating milestones. By consistently delivering value, engaging with your audience, and maintaining authenticity, you can use social media as a powerful tool to build trust and foster lasting relationships with your followers and customers.
