    The honoree served his country with distinction in the Vietnam War as part of the 1st Aviation Brigade, 165th Aviation Group, providing forward air and in-flight control with infantry units, ensuring fire power support in heavily defended and remote locations.

    The honoree has served his community as Chairman of the Plano Community Relations Committee, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee and now as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Plano, and liaison to the Emergency Preparation and Planning Committee, Regional Transportation Commission, the North Texas Council of Governments, and the Collin County Homeless Coalition and the Collin County Veterans Coalition.
