This is different from our community coaching. It is meant to be our lightest touch and easiest access peer-to-peer connection point within the community. There is no expectation of a coaching conversation, but simply that you want to connect with someone and get to know them better on whatever terms you want. As a student herself, Hailey has experienced firsthand how intimidating building connections can be when starting out. By 2023, esports, a sector that is expanding quickly, will bring in $7.12 billion. With an estimated 318 million esports fans by 2025, it has a sizable and active fan base. Although women make up 20–30% of fans, men between the ages of 18 and 35 make up the target market. It's critical to do the following in order to market to this audience: 1. Select the appropriate channels: Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and other well-known streaming services are good places to find esports enthusiasts. 2. Work together with esports influencers in order to broaden your audience and build credibility in the community. 3. Make in-app purchases:and branded material that blends in with the gameplay in a smooth manner. 4. Support teams and events in esports to increase brand awareness. 5. The EWCF Club Support Program is a key pillar of the Foundation and our mission to enable the ecosystem. Having been an esports club owner myself back in the day, I understand the challenges these organizations face. Unlike in most other sports, in esports, you can make your way to the top without the support from the Club. All it takes is to be excellent at your game, be visible, and qualify to compete among the best. In many games, you can do that without being a part of an esports Club. In football, there is only one way up: to be among the best at your Club, then move to a Club better than your current club… While possible, progressing your career in esports all by yourself is hard. Very very hard. For the vast majority of athletes, the career will follow a similar trajectory, from club to club. For the clubs, this means that they need to have enough resources and bandwidth to grow the talent pipeline. And: unlike in the case of most traditional sports clubs, esports clubs often are (or want to be) multidisciplinary. Strengthening that infrastructure for securing new talent and new disciplines they can compete across and enabling them to do so - sustainably and long-term - is one of the pillars we believe will help grow the sport. This is how: ✅ The Annual Rewards the Program offers, are an additional revenue stream… ✅ … that helps Clubs create the financial stability needed for the long-term, so their athletes and rosters can focus on what matters most: being the best in the world at their respective games. ✅ The one-time stimulus offered in 2024 helps shatter barriers to entry to a cross-game competition ✅ Access to a truly global Program, with a global fanbase, united under one competitive banner ✅ And finally: an opportunity to participate in up to 20 competitions across 19 games, to be in the running for the title of the World Cup Club Champion - IF they qualify 😉 We are overwhelmed by the incredible popularity of the Club Support Program - and the 177 applications we’ve received over the course of just a couple of weeks. Amazing list of practical game design principles from Warren Spector, one of our industry's great. Appreciate how he frames some of the magic we feel playing his games. Can't wait to play his next one! Wonderful peek into Warren's design mind. His Deus Ex is stuff of legends. While I'll argue that there are operable definitions of fun (humbly suggest The 4 Keys to Fun ;) I agree wholeheartedly that a team needs more than a single word "make it Fun" to guide the design. In fact that's kind of the whole point. In our extensive player research players favorite games support multiples of their favorite play styles. From a Psychology perspective it's vital for an exceptional game to offer players new playstyles. The exploration of novelty, cause and effect relationships, and especially new kinds of strategy to get to a goal are vital to what human beings (and all mammals) call play. Definitely worth a read!
