AI, traditional machine learning, and deep learning are projected to result in net savings of $200 billion to $360 billion in healthcare spending. True story alert! (Also, a terrific example of how we use data to remove waste from a health plan)     One of Agility's clients recently gained independent access to their medical and pharmacy data via their benefit advisor and our Data Analytics Purchasing Coalition. They run a self-funded health plan with 200-300 employees.      Upon an initial review, we saw that the client's RX 'cost per quantity' was roughly 4X the norm. We shared this with their PBM, and they took it under review. After a somewhat lengthy review, the PBM determined that some additional discounts can be applied. Hmmm - that's interesting.     The client is expected to realize...not kidding...$150,000 - $200,000 in savings!!! This will land somewhere around $40-$50 PEPM.   I am no expert on the inner workings of a PBM, so I have no clue where these additional discounts come from. But I do know this employer would NOT have these savings if they had not...owned their data, analyzed their data and acted upon it.     There are ways to spend less on health care folks, but you have to look.  #dataanalytics #fiduciary
