Description
Bloomsbury Academic Publishing is seeking an editorial intern for Fall 2024. We are a publisher of academic and trade titles located in Midtown/Herald Square. The academic division commissions in a broad range of subject areas, including Literary Studies, Music, Film, & Media Studies, and Politics.
As a Small Team, Our Interns Are a Key Part Of Our Day-to-day Operations. As a Bloomsbury Academic Editorial Intern, You Will Work With The Editorial Team On a Variety Of Projects That Reflect The Diverse Aspects Of Academic Publishing, Including

Requirements
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual, who ideally has the following skills:
This position pays $18.00/hour, and candidates may wish to arrange for college credit for the placement to supplement.
Location
Bloomsbury has adopted a hybrid work policy comprising of two days in-office work and three days of remote work. Candidates residing in NY, NJ, or CT must be able to commute to Bloomsbury’s New York City office on a mutually agreed-upon schedule for in-office work.

As a Small Team, Our Interns Are a Key Part Of Our Day-to-day Operations. As a Bloomsbury Academic Editorial Intern, You Will Work With The Editorial Team On a Variety Of Projects That Reflect The Diverse Aspects Of Academic Publishing, Including
- Manage departmental shipping
- Manage submissions to the Library of Congress program
- Update data systems as needed
- Complete administrative support tasks for peer review
- Complete course, academic, and picture research
- Coordinate cover design and copy between editorial and design departments

Requirements
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual, who ideally has the following skills:
- High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Firm grasp of grammar and spelling, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Strong communication skills in a fast-paced professional environment
