Trileaf Corporation is a nationwide environmental, architecture, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering & architectural design. Trileaf serves the wireless communications, commercial real estate, financial, and petroleum industries from its headquarters in St. Louis, MO and multiple branch offices throughout the U.S.

Job Summary:

Trileaf is seeking a full time SOI-qualified Architectural Historian. This position is remote, located anywhere in the US.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Architectural Resource Surveys
  • Archival & SHPO File Research
  • NRHP eligibility evaluations
  • Project Effects determinations
  • Aiding in the development of historic context statements
  • Preparing historic resources tables for technical reports
  • Some travel (25%) will be needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered, the resume of the applicant must demonstrate the following qualifications/skills:

  • Familiarity with NEPA and Section 106 of the NHPA as related to the built environment/historic properties
  • Must meet or exceed the professional qualifications standards for Architectural History as outlined in 36CFR61
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability and willingness to travel (travel not expected to exceed 2-3 days at a time)
  • Collaboration and communication with regional archaeologists and State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) personnel
  • Writing property descriptions, historical narratives, and National Register of Historic Places eligibility assessments
  • Project effect evaluations per Section 106 of the NHPA
  • Travel/Fieldwork to survey, photograph, and document a variety of above-ground resource types
  • Developing mitigation options and writing MOAs
  • Familiarity with the Nationwide Programmatic Agreement for Review of Effects on Historic Properties for Certain Undertakings Approved by the Federal Communications Commission (NPA) and FCC Forms 620/621 is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Preferred skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, AdobePro, mapping/GIS experience

Education:

  • Master’s degree or higher in History, Architectural History, Art History, Historic Preservation, or closely related
