Assistant or Associate Professor Special Education

Required Qualifications

At the time of hire, the candidate should have an earned doctorate in the area of special education (or closely related field). ABD candidates will be considered, however, they must have an earned degree before August 2025.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience teaching special education in a PK-12 setting; experience teaching in higher education; experiences with online or hybrid course delivery.

Preferred candidates will have teaching experiences in special education areas such as instructional methods for students with various abilities, differentiation, assessment, literacy, and/or autism. Since our special education graduate program is 100% online, experiences in teaching online or hybrid classes would be beneficial. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate special education courses; conduct research and participate in scholarly activity; provide service to the department, college, university, the metropolitan community, and the profession.
