Position Summary

Walsh University’s Division of Mathematics and Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty position in its undergraduate Computer Science/Digital Technology/Information Science program. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required. This is a non-tenure track position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • teaching 24 credit hours per academic year with appropriate professional scholarship
  • help to further develop and restructure the existing computer science major
  • involvement in division planning and operations
  • appropriate University committee duties and other general service to the University.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:

Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline required.

Work Experience:

  • College-level teaching experience preferred
  • A working knowledge of modern computer science applications
  • Experience with both hardware and software skills preferred
  • Industry experience preferred, especially in the app development world
  • Having worked with Artificial Intelligence applications is a plus

Skills And Abilities:

  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty
  • High emotional intelligence and a positive attitude a must
  • Ability to do interactive teaching, use technology appropriately in class and teach both in-person or online (asynchronous or hybrid)
