We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Manager to join our Nutrition Communications team!

The Associate Manager, Nutrition Communications will translate dense nutrition research information and synthesize the findings for internal and external audiences to be the go-to team researcher. They will execute research related projects that increase brand visibility, help provide strategic direction and vision, cultivate, and develop creative nutrition PR ideas including compelling activations at health professional conference and events. The Associate Manager contributes to the strategic and creative thinking for multiple healthy produce brands including POM Wonderful, Wonderful Pistachios, and Wonderful Citrus.

We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description

  • Maintain a continuous pulse on the research landscape and nutrition trends.
  • Work with team to provide nutrition positioning and create messaging to inform key stakeholders and internal teams and to be used in external communications.
  • Synthesize research studies from diverse source on a range of topics and creatively use the content for both internal and external purposes.
  • Work with external researchers on Wonderful’s research investment projects, managing the projects and identifying ways to leverage the research.
  • Develop Wonderful Nutrition newsletter, providing relevant research and messaging to our network of Registered Dietitians.
  • Create and maintain compelling and regulatory-complaint health messaging for both US and international markets in partnership with stakeholders on brand PR, marketing, health research, and legal teams.
  • Draft message guides, strategy memos, client updates, creative press materials, case studies, and other correspondence.
  • Support the creation and editing of nutrition presentations to ensure high-quality, strategic, and creative work product. Deliver with a persuasive presentation style that commands respect and gains the confidence and the client and audience.
  • Collaborate with senior management and brand teams to ideate nutrition programs, working cross-functionally with the marketing, advertising, research, and legal teams.
  • Attend nutrition conferences and symposiums to professionally represent Wonderful brands and present research/brand news. Independently manage PR activations as assigned.
  • Conduct proactive and reactive outreach to key health professionals and researchers who influence consumer and industry media, supermarket retailers, or other health professionals; build and nurture these relationships.
  • Manage budgets, oversee media tracking, and seasonal results grids.

Qualifications

  • PR experience with a consumer PR or healthcare agency 2-3 years is preferred. CPG PR experience within both agency and corporate environments is preferred.
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; Active member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Experience with university research projects strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Dietetics, Nutrition, Communications, Journalism, PR, English, Public Health or related business field.
  • Ability to translate scientific concepts into consumer communications following AP style.
  • Ability to create presentations and materials appropriate for health professionals.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in the relentless pursuit of strategic solutions.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to create and execute to a plan and ensure that team members do the same.
  • Passion for staying on top of nutrition trends, news, policy updates, and the nutrition community.
  • Understanding of nutrition media landscape is a plus including media dietitians.
  • Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and FTC food, nutrition, and health regulatory issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe PDF, PubMed.gov, Asana.
  • Travel for events, when necessary 25% approximately.
  • Ability to work weekends to staff special events, trade shows, and media tours as needed.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
