The firm is currently comprised of a leadership team of 13 and 29 consultants/contractors. Ashley|Rountree continues to grow and diversify its offerings to the nonprofit community locally, regionally, and nationally. The company has five divisions each with its own Vice President and many consultants who have direct nonprofit expertise: Capital Campaigns, Fundraising Solutions/Grants, Strategic Planning/Partnerships and Collaborations, Talent & Leadership, and Marketing & Communications. There is also a VP for Lexington & Central Kentucky Market.

We are currently seeking a part-time Associate Vice President (AVP) of Fundraising Solutions & Grants who will provide vision and dynamic leadership to carry out the mission of Ashley|Rountree and help lead the division and its team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

For more than two decades, Ashley|Rountree has built its business around fund development and campaign planning, both areas that are foundational to our burgeoning business. In recent years, Ashley|Rountree expanded into other areas of nonprofit expertise, broadening our scope of business. Still, the root of a nonprofit lies in the strengths of its development process and that remains the heart of our business.

The AVP of Fundraising Solutions & Grants will help lead consulting projects that assist clients with their needs in comprehensive Fund Development Plans, Governance, Database Management, Special Events, Grant Research/Writing, and Administration. The AVP, along with the Vice President (VP) of Fundraising Solutions, and our team of consultants advise nonprofit staff and board leaders in the evaluation, planning, and execution of efforts to improve net fundraising results for our nonprofit clients. Areas of focus in the Fundraising Solutions/Grants Division will include offering client counsel in: Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Sponsorships, Staffing, Volunteers, Database, Gift Accounting, Governance, Grant Research and Federal and Private Foundation Grant Writing and Administration.

Ashley|Rountree has a culture of collaboration and coordination. There may be occasions in which the AVP will work with other divisions to deliver proposals or consult on cross-divisional projects.

Division of time between consulting and management is currently estimated at 60/40. This part-time position is for twenty (20) hours per week.

The Associate Vice President must take initiative and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The Associate Vice President will manage a portfolio of clients and provide direct client consultation. This role will help lead the division team by assisting with sales lead calls, writing sales lead proposals, closing new business, assigning consultants to projects, overseeing quality control of client work, and communicating with the division team on a timely basis. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Fundraising Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Vice President to oversee, manage, and execute a broad portfolio of Fundraising Solutions Consulting projects, including but not limited to Annual Fund, Major Giving, Planned Giving, Events, and Board Development.
  • Will help lead special projects, including the Fundraising School with CNPE, AI, data analytics, and online fundraising integration.
  • Assists with background information for proposals and helps create and edit client sales proposals.
  • Helps with the identification of contractors for proposals.
  • In conjunction with the VP, manages any client or contractor needs.
  • Serves as a consultant to an agreed-upon number of clients.
  • Document work with clients in appropriate software and maintain records of time spent with clients and on projects in Ashley | Rountree's time management system.
  • Advises VP on contractor effectiveness and updates on projects.
  • Respond promptly to internal team members' and external client partners' requests.
  • Oversees creating and maintaining all best practice documents related to the division.
  • Will exhibit, teach, and lead with best fundraising practices for the contractor team and our clients.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills And Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • At least 5 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and at least 3 years working directly in fundraising
  • Prior consulting experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit organizational culture and industry best practices
  • Discrete, compassionate counsel to staff, volunteers, and funders who earn trust and confidence
  • Confident, proactive, and organized writer and planner who enjoys creating and presenting written plans
  • A zeal for creative and timely problem-solving
  • Thoughtful, active listener who seeks to understand before acting and seeks to provide practical, relevant solutions to the problems presented by our clients
  • Self-guided, independent worker who can intuit what colleagues and clients need to be successful
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding as a volunteer for a nonprofit

Compensation And Benefits

Ashley|Rountree and Associates offers a competitive salary of $42,000-$46,000, commensurate with experience as well as a possible bonus structure.
