Provides supervision to Laboratory staff performing a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, and require use of professional judgment. Ensures accuracy, quality and compliance with regulatory agencies. Tests are performed in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results, which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
SHIFT: 7:00 am-3:30 pm, every 5th weekend
Requirements
MT (ASCP): current certification upon hire.
Must have at least two years work experience in the section; desire previous supervisory experience.
Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
