Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to join our team for a Design Build project. The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining the project schedule from the design phase through to construction completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in scheduling within the construction industry, particularly with Design Build projects, and possess strong communication and analytical skills.
This position is onsite at a government facility, candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Role Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain Project Schedule:
Create and update the master project schedule using appropriate scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6)
Integrate design, procurement, and construction activities into a comprehensive schedule, including cost and resource loaded tasks
Establish milestones and critical path activities to ensure project deadlines are met
Collaborate with Project Teams:
Work closely with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather scheduling data and ensure alignment of activities
Facilitate coordination meetings to discuss schedule updates and address potential issues
Attend client schedule coordination meetings
Monitor and Control Progress:
Track project progress against the baseline schedule and identify any deviations
Prepare and present regular schedule reports, including Gantt charts, progress curves, and variance analysis
Conduct schedule impact analysis for any changes or delays and propose mitigation strategies
Risk Management:
Identify potential scheduling risks and develop contingency plans
Perform schedule risk analysis to forecast project completion dates and highlight areas of concern
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling documentation
Generate weekly and monthly progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
Create schedule exhibits as needed to communicate schedule status, risks, methodologies, and other concepts related to the schedule to internal and external stakeholders
Ensure all schedule changes are properly documented and communicated
Support Project Controls:
Assist in the integration of schedule data with project cost control systems
Collaborate with the project controls team to ensure consistency in project reporting and forecasting
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling within the construction industry, with a focus on Design Build projects
Ability to analyze schedule data and render professional opinion on reasons for variances
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors
Knowledge of project controls procedures and practices
Ability to assist in the preparation of construction scheduling specifications
Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications
Experience with construction cost tracking and cost control
Ability to give presentations of schedule reports to stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
