About Us: We are a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Nassau County, specializing in delivering comprehensive Managed IT to our clients. Our mission is to provide exceptional technology solutions that drive our clients' success. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Controller to join our in-office team and contribute to our financial management and strategic planning efforts.

Position Overview: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the IT services sector, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for business development initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Utilize financial software to manage accounting functions; experience with Xero is preferred.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role, preferably within the IT services industry.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with financial software; proficiency in Xero is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 base
