Position Overview

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) is hiring a Controlling Intern for its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The position will support the Financial Analyst in the preparation of monthly financial management reports, as well as assisting with the year-end close process. This position will also assist with various projects to provide financial support and analysis. Candidates must be available to intern from September 2024 – February 2025 (6 month internship).

The PCNA Controlling team is responsible for preparing and reporting accurate financial performance information and directs the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with all departments to establish realistic and achievable targets and plans.

Strong analytical, accounting and communication skills are necessary for this position. This role requires the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position reports to the Financial Analyst.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in the year-end close process including preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Create and maintain monthly analysis reports for assigned areas.
  • Assist with tracking assigned accruals during month end close.
  • Work with department managers and teams to provide financial support and analysis.
  • Assist in approval of department Purchase Requisitions up to 50 TUSD.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects as assigned.
  • Learn and utilize financial software and tools as needed.

Required Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate degree (or junior or senior actively pursuing an undergraduate degree) in finance, accounting or equivalent at an accredited college or university.
Skills

    • Solid understanding of basic accounting and finance principles.
    • Detail oriented analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong time management skills
    • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a team environment.
    • Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint.
    • A passion for learning, a proactive approach to acquiring new skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
