Base pay range
$115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
JCW Group has partnered with a reputable commercial bank to hire a Credit Risk Officer. This role will be hands on with analyzing and reporting on the credit risk of the firm's loan portfolio. This is a full-time opportunity based in the Greater Boston area.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth risk analysis of the Bank’s loan portfolio, focusing on both commercial and consumer lending segments.
- Develop, produce, and deliver detailed portfolio risk reports to executive management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders, effectively communicating the quality and credit risk of loan portfolio assets through written reports and verbal presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce portfolio reporting for external parties, including equity and debt analysts, investors, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist with portfolio stress testing and scenario analysis to measure the impact of various economic conditions on portfolio resilience, and support the quarterly allowance for credit loss (CECL/ACL) estimation process.
- Build, enhance, and maintain workflow automation for portfolio risk reporting and analysis, including creating and maintaining dashboards, views, and visualizations of portfolio measures.
- Mentor and guide junior team members/interns, while supporting a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field, with an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) highly desirable. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in portfolio risk analysis within the banking or financial services sector, and in-depth knowledge of commercial and consumer lending products.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key risk factors, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency with information technology solutions, including Microsoft Office, SAS, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, and other data management, analytical, and risk management software applications, along with working knowledge of databases and SQL.
