SWCA Environmental Consultants has an opening for an Cultural Resources Field Technician (HR Title: Cultural Resources Technician) in our Albuquerque office.

This is a temporary position but upon review of experience and credentials, the opportunity for regular, full-time employment may be available at hiring.

What You Will Accomplish

Conduct archaeological fieldwork including monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery. Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using handheld units.

Experience And Qualifications For Success

• A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field or six (6) months field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring required
• Completion of an accredited Field School Certification is preferred
• Knowledge of ArcGIS software programs preferred
• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a 4wd vehicle on rugged, backcountry roads required
• Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required.

An employee in this Albuquerque, NM-based position can expect an hourly pay rate of $18.75-$24.75/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
