Job Description

Job Duties:

Fox Cable Network Services, LLC seeks a Database Architect (Senior Data Engineer), as a key member of the Data Services Management team, will play an essential role in envisioning, implementing, and evangelizing new features, pipelines, and platforms that not only deliver data but insight. Participate at the forefront of assessing the most impactful data needs throughout the business and leading the charge in identifying automated solutions that help bring data to life. Utilize experience in building and maintaining ETLs, data pipelines, and data models. Specific duties include: 1) Drive and participate in the definition, the direction, and the development of the FOX CPE data engineering platform. 2) Work with internal stakeholders, data science team to scope the requirements, evaluate business needs and objectives. 3) Design and develop highly scalable, reliable, extensive, and maintainable Data pipelines. 4) Establish and implement best engineering practices such as architectural design, unit and regression testing, test-driven development, pair programming, and continuous integration frameworks. 5) Work with the infrastructure team to ensure that all the required monitoring, exception handling and fault tolerance is in place for a production-quality data platform. 6) Team up with analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and translate reporting capabilities accordingly. 7) Identify and investigate emerging trends within FOX market and the industry as a whole. 8) Assist with process improvement with a customer-focused, progressive mindset. 9) Understand data classification and adhere to the information protection and privacy restrictions on data. Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Physics or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in data engineering or related database engineering experience in production scale platforms.

Experience must include two (2) years of experience in data mining and development of ETL processes; distributed data architectures and big data processing technologies such as Spark, EMR, Hadoop and Hive; and Realtime Frameworks, collection, and processing Realtime data using kinesis Data Streams, KCL, KDA and Firehoses.

  • Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling; 2) Experience in GitHub Actions and CICD framework; 3) Knowledge of AWS technologies such as KMS, CloudTrail, STS, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lake formation and Step functions; 4) Experience with Talend, Matillion, SQL, T-SQL, Postgres and relational and multi-dimensional databases; 5) Knowledge of Python or similar scripting language; 6) Knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle; and 7) Experience in SFMC and Google BigQuery
  • Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills is acceptable.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $183,855.00-202,240.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
