The J.D. McCarty Center is a fun, energetic place that is always seeking new and improved treatment strategies to help our patients and their caregivers. At the J.D. McCarty Center,we serve children 0-21 years of age in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient and school settings.

Salary starting at $110,000 – based on experience.

Basic Purpose:

This position is assigned responsibilities involving the supervision, management, and leadership of the business operations of the hospital. The position will have an executive level responsibility for the planning, organizing, and oversight of various operational functions throughout the hospital. This position will assist in the development, implementation, and promotion of a unified vision and mission across all areas of the hospital. The position will have the authority to make decisions within the scope of the position and will advise the Director & CEO of actions taken.

Required Education & Experience:

Master’s Degree in an applicable discipline such as administration or business. Five (5) years of supervisory experience. Knowledge and experience working with State of Oklahoma laws, regulations, and statutes for state agencies. Knowledge and experience working with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Conditions of Participation and Oklahoma Department of Health standards for hospitals.

Typical Job Functions:

Serves as strategic leader for all business operations of the hospital and is responsible for the oversight of program development for the hospital. Makes recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team for future program/services and workflows. Oversees the design, development, and implementation of new/or expanded operations for the advancement of the hospital. Obtains and coordinates effective pilot studies, education, and training, as related to the new or expanded program or function.

Responsible for oversight of all business operations of the hospital including oversight of applicable contracted services in accordance with hospital policy and procedures.

Serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the hospital and participates in the development of vision for the hospital. Actively promotes the established vision and mission to all staff members of the hospital and ensures that the operations line of the hospital is operating effectively to include meeting customer service expectations.

Works collaboratively with the Deputy Director – Clinical and the Director of Nursing to ensure that both the business operations and clinical operations of the hospital are coordinating in driving toward the vision of the hospital.

Responsible for the oversight and management of construction and renovation projects of the hospital. Consults with the Director & CEO and all other applicable vendors and stakeholders regarding such projects.

Responsible for the management of the Operations Division Director and participates in all high-level personnel actions impacting the execution of all hospital business operations. Makes recommendations of personnel actions for staff members and evaluates operations line efficiency and effectiveness.

Establishes, oversees, and conducts appropriate cadence of meetings that include operations department heads and the Operations Division Director. Regularly attends clinical line meetings to ensure collaboration amongst the clinical and business operations of the hospital.

Attends and represents the hospital at all hospital fundraising events and identified community activities.

Attends and represents the hospital at events, meetings, and conferences hosted by external entities that relate to government or the healthcare industry.

Attends external training and professional development events that relate to government or the healthcare industry.

Prepares reports, business plans, or any other requested items concerning the operational activities of the hospital as directed by the Director & CEO, Commission, or Medical/Dental Staff by specified deadlines.

Oversees and participates in the budget process. Ensures effective and efficient use of financial resources, holds operations departments accountable for their budgeted allotment.

Is knowledgeable of and responsible for all business operations of the hospital to include ensuring that the hospital is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines and all applicable laws and statutes.

Coordinates maintenance and safety concerns/issues with hospital personnel to ensure patient and staff safety measures are performed.

Reports to the Director & CEO. Provides consultation to the Director & CEO regarding any business operations programs or concerns.

Will rotate with the Deputy Director – Clinical to serve as Acting Director in the event of absence by the Director & CEO.

The above job functions are not meant to be all-inclusive. As such, the Deputy Director – Operations will perform other duties as assigned by the Director & CEO.

About J.D. McCarty Center:

At J.D. McCarty Center patients are admitted for a 30-day evaluation during which they are assigned a treatment team consisting of nursing unit, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional services, social services, psychological services, behavioral analysis, and recreational therapy. Our 80-acre campus includes an on-site elementary, intermediate, and high school which is staffed by Norman Public School teachers. Patients may continue treatment needs beyond the 30-days as an in-patient in habilitation status based upon progress or placement needs. We are a tobacco and vape free facility.
