Job Description

As a key leader within the Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) Controllership team, the Director, Accounting & Reporting will be responsible for accounting processes, controls, systems and reporting that ensures controllership objectives are met to world class standards across UP&E (Consumer Products, Digital Games, and Franchise Management). This position reports to the UP&E Assistant Controller and partners with Finance and Accounting teams across the US and multiple international territories. This role exists within a fast-paced environment having the opportunity for growth within the company.

Salary range: $125,000 - $170,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:

  • Timely management of monthly and quarterly close responsibilities and financial reporting of UP&E, organize timelines & deliverables and manage overall financial statement review
  • Oversee technical accounting areas including agent commission liabilities, fixed assets, lease accounting, international recharges and taxes
  • Oversight and review of Name, Voice, Likeness reporting for licensed intellectual properties which requires working with Financial Contract Administration and Reporting Team
  • Supervise and review the work of Senior Financial Analysts (2); provide coaching as appropriate
  • Partner with offshore (business process outsourcing) team to oversee tasks, and review work product; enhance and innovate with offshore team to standardize and centralize tasks
  • Partner with NBCU Corporate as UP&E’s main point of contact for SAP S4 implementation
  • Partner with Virtual Workforce team to use automation tools (robots, machine learning, AI) to automate accounting processes
  • Review and approve journal entries, and related support/analysis; prepare journal entries as needed
  • Oversee preparation of the balance sheet review reporting package and supporting analytical schedules
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations, prepare account reconciliations as needed
  • Support the accounts payable function, including management of approval matrix
  • Support international accounting management from a controls, compliance, and reporting perspective
  • Partner with Finance to ensure companywide financial goals and objectives are being met timely and efficiently
  • Special projects

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting or auditing experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Big Four audit experience preferred
