This leadership position will oversee the delivery and integration of racks from Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and support the development of automated monitoring services. This position will work closely with our internal customers to understand their workload and monitoring requirements ahead of their needs. This role will lead product management, system architecture, and hardware engineering for the design and delivery of the AI/ML, networking, compute, and storage rack infrastructure. The Director will build an ambitious and innovative team to manage the procurement and delivery of racks and servers

This experienced leader is a visionary who possesses the technological acumen needed to translate the vision into a roadmap and communicate how the roadmap translates into product development. The applicant will have experience in delivering new and innovative products and services. This position reports directly to the Vice President Cloud, IP & Transport Network and is a senior executive level position.

The candidate for this position will possess robust leadership skills and is adept at navigating a rapidly evolving environment characterized by substantial ambiguity. The candidate will bring extensive experience in the enterprise hardware rack and server architecture, coupled with a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional reliability at an optimal cost.

This position will lead the transformation of our on-premises rack and server infrastructure, driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the telecommunications industry.

Un-carrier® Management Oversight

  • Define and drive a 3–5-year technology vision for on-premises rack and server infrastructure, aligning with company objectives and customer demands.
  • Translate the vision into a technology pipeline for active product development, ensuring timely delivery of rack and server capacity.
  • Analyze competitive market and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and strategic advantage.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for rack and server engineering, representing T-Mobile's technical capabilities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.


The Experience You’ll Bring

  • Graduate degree in engineering, computer science, and/or business.
  • Deep understanding of server design and architectures.
  • Excellent written communication and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated that they have succeeded in delivery of high-quality technology. products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, and assertive team.
  • Ability to communicate simple and complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills are critical to the success of this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • 12-15+ years of years of experience in a technical field as well as experience in a line of business (finance, consumer, product, supply chain, and/or manufacturing).
  • 10+ years product development in rack/server infrastructure or related engineering field
  • 7+ years proven experience in a leadership role overseeing product development, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and/or related technical field.
  • Preferred to have TS/SCI clearance.

Washington Pay Range : $199,600.00 - $270,000.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
