Director, Infrastructure Operations

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a seasoned IT professional for the role of Director of Infrastructure Operations. This critical position will be responsible for overseeing the technical infrastructure of HFHI’s global operation that includes three offices in the United States and four global offices. This role will also scale the infrastructure technology and solutions to over seventy National Offices. The Director will lead the team responsible for managing the network connectivity (LAN/WAN/WiFi), on-premise and cloud (Azure) server/storage, and security operations.


The ideal candidate has experience deploying and managing global solutions, expertise migrating large offices from one environment to another, and a very strong technical background. In addition to managing the technical infrastructure, this role will be responsible for creating and maintaining secure configurations that protect the organization from attacks by working closely with HFHI’s cyber security team.


The Director of Infrastructure Operations will need to work closely with other members of the IT team, business leaders, and field offices to ensure that the technical infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. The candidate will need to be a strong communicator and collaborator, able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization to develop and implement technical solutions that meet their needs. Conduct performance reviews, employee oversite, as well as promoting and training of team is part of the overall responsibility of this role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the execution and operation of Global Technology Standardization: tenant and email consolidation, endpoint security (EDR/EPP), onprem migration to cloud. (25%)

• Lead the team in developing, documenting and maintaining secure configurations for on-premise and cloud technologies. (25%)

• Evaluate cloud and data center management platforms, manage and deliver all computing capabilities across on-premises and off-premises solutions, and deliver a secure platform to internal consumers. (10%)

• Partner with CyberSecurity to ensure the Security Operations (SecOps) team aligns with their policies, requirements, processes to secure the infrastructure and reduce risk

• Provide appropriate metrics and important data points to evaluate performance, recommend enhancements to systems and maintain operational efficiency of networks and cloud infrastructure. (10%)

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment to standards, principles, etc (10%)

• Provide Project Management for Infrastructure related task/projects using Program Mgmt disciplines. (5%)

• Other related Duties as assigned by supervisor (5%)


Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 5-10 Years of IT Technology Leadership/People Management Experience

• 3-5 Years developing and implementing global infrastructure solutions, primarily with nonprofit organization(s)

• 5+ Years of Cloud Computing Experience using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services or large DataCenter operation

• 3-5 years of Network Operations/Engineering experience

• 2-3 years of experience in technical project management and demonstrated ability to take a project through all phases, requirements gathering, design, implementation, and support.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required for daily interaction with both clients and team members.

• Strong technical leadership that can motivate a technical team and take ownership of complex projects through requirements gathering, implementation, to support.

• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure solution globally

• Experience remotely leading technical teams with positive results

• Demonstrated ability to develop, deploy, and manage solutions using Cloud Technology and Architectures

• Extensive experience implementing and ensuring enterprise security for cloud (or datacenter) environments.

• Vendor Management to include scope management that aligns with SOW, task management, and reporting.


Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Certification or AWS Solutions Architect Certification

• Network Certification (CompTIA Network+ , CCNA, or other related certification for network proficiency)

• ITIL v3

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $123,675 to $145,500.
