Kyverna is seeking a highly motivated Director or Medical Affairs who will be a key contributor on the Medical Affairs team. This role will provide strategic vision for Kyverna’s conferences and meeting plans, professional society engagement, and publication plans across therapeutic areas relevant to Kyverna’s pipeline in support of the organization’s corporate objectives. A successful candidate must be able to effectively lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans bridging key internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration, education, and insight generation furthering Kyverna’s mission of bringing life-changing therapeutic benefits to patients living with autoimmune diseases. Responsibilities
Responsible for short- and long-range strategic conference and meeting, professional society engagements, and publication planning
Oversees and directs team members and vendors responsible for executing of major conferences with flawless execution of all necessary components and materials for conferences and meetings including conference logistics, exhibits, and team attendance (in-person and virtual)
Oversees and directs team members and vendors responsible for publication development including abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts
Represent Kyverna at conferences, in meetings with professional societies, and in communications with authors
Ensure plans aim to foster collaborations and maximize opportunities to advance Kyverna’s research and mission
Accountable to Kyverna leadership for execution against plans
Leads internal communications, leadership updates, and coordination of projects
Maintains expertise on industry best practices
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
10+ years of experience within a biotech, pharmaceutical company, non-profit patient advocacy organization, professional society, or health-care organization
Experience with the major aspects of large-scale (1,000+ attendees) world-class conferences, live and virtual
Expert in publication best practices including GPP guidelines and ICMJE criteria
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Proven leadership ability in a matrix environment able to manage multi-level, cross-team partnerships with high attention to detail
Expert in establishing, nurturing and strengthening sustainable relationships with patients, patient advocacy organizations or health care providers
Expert in compliance, legal, regulatory, and other issues that impact the biopharmaceutical industry and patient engagement and advocacy practices
Exceptional written and oral communication skills including distilling complex scientific concepts in a compelling way to a non-medical audiences
Self-starter, proactive, creative, and analytical
Domestic and international travel may be required of up to 30%
$184,000 - $260,000 a year
The salary range for this position is from $184,000 - $260,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock option plan.
