Director of Accounting

A global, but KC-based health & wellness company is looking for its next Director of Accounting to help the business at it pursues aggressive growth goals. The firm, which has a longstanding history within the space, (creators and owners of multiple technology patents) operates a global supply chain and sells across multiple countries, using a direct-to-consumer (“DtC”) sales approach, primarily through eCommerce sites and strategic partnerships. This role will require strong leadership experience with a track-record of managing multi-entity operations. Requirements

• Public Acctg experience and/or CPA preferred, not required
• Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
• Building or redesigning accounting process for scale & efficiency

Responsibilities

• Professionalize accounting operations within the firm. Review accounting ops architecture and process to identify opportunities for improvements and acceleration of month-end close
• Manage the accounting team (controller plus 3 staff accounting personnel)
• Produce month-end financial statements & applicable reporting packages for executive management
• Support board initiatives and reporting
• Lead efforts with third party services for audit and tax statement production
• Work across business units to help leadership within product, operations & sales make better financially driven decisions
• Will need to lead ad hoc efforts related to technical accounting initiatives (i.e. share-based compensation)
