Georgetown College is seeking candidates for a Director of Admissions. The Director has the responsibility for all duties and activities the support the recruitment of undergraduate students to the college. This position will provide supervision and support to the admissions recruitment staff, hire, train, and evaluate staff, and work with other offices (especially athletics, marketing, and financial aid) while implementing the strategic vision of the cabinet and Executive Vice President.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Envision, plan, implement, assess, and improve a comprehensive admissions/recruitment program based on institutional and enrollment strategic planning
Embrace and demonstrate best practices in admissions and recruitment
Develop and manage effective marketing techniques and message management
Lead all facets of recruitment marketing, communication, and publications
Train staff and assure that all presentations accurately represent the institution’s practices and policies
Collaborate with Assistant Director of Operations to develop and effectively utilize enrollment services technology
Understand and implement leading-edge financial aid strategies/communications within the framework of the larger admissions/recruiting plan
Exhibit flexibility in responding to recruitment opportunities as they arise
Appreciate, support and lead efforts to recruit an increasingly diverse student body
Supervise processing and review of freshman, transfer and international undergraduate applications for admission in conjunction with Faculty Admissions Committee
Manage all on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, as well as staff recruitment travel
Build and manage a significant annual operating budget
Analyze data and assess results of unit initiatives
Provide management using accurate periodic performance reports related to recruitment program effectiveness
Work collegially with students, staff and faculty in small and large group settings, and report as requested in cabinet, faculty, and trustee meetings on enrollment initiatives
Effectively lead and motivate staff
Develop, document, and implement ongoing program of professional training for staff
Make excellent use of time management, organization, prioritization and presentation skills
Make independent professional judgments with integrity
Demonstrate a high performance leadership style, strong customer focus and excellent listening skills
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises eight to ten employees in the Admissions Office. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience – Prefer Master's degree (M.A.) from a four-year college or university and five years of senior level experience as Director or Associate Director, including direct responsibility for staff selection, supervision, development, assessment and accountability.
Communication / Language -- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and intermediate computer literacy. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Successfully blend a high-touch, personal recruitment approach with various highly technical modes of contact and content delivery. Combine a positive attitude with a real enjoyment of the challenge of working toward positive outcomes for the prospective student, the admissions team and the College. A student-centric customer service attitude and great sense of humor is a must.

Reasoning -- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel. Word, Outlook), Slate, and the Internet. Basic office equipment to include facsimile, copier machines, printer.
