To oversee the Advertising Division and its staff members and guide the planning and implementation of comprehensive, strategic offline advertising programs and projects to enhance PETA’s overall objectives
Primary Responsibilities And Duties
Manage offline advertising division staff, including management team
Oversee coordination of the strategic placement of high-impact, thought-provoking advertising via various mediums including outdoor, print and online news media, TV, radio, and other innovative forms of OOH advertising
Provide ideas for generating powerful, timely ad placements and free or reduced-rate placement of PSAs
Guide staff on correspondences with advertising reps
Provide input to help create unique advertising and PSA projects
Develop, implement, and revise strategies for new advertising efforts
Oversee the hiring, oversight, development, and training of staff members
Develop and implement division processes
Direct reporting initiatives, including using Salesforce, to help determine the impact of various advertising options and campaigns
Represent the advertising division in internal meetings and with ad companies and representatives
Exercise sound judgment and confidentiality at all times
Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Director or the Senior Vice President
Requirements
10 years of offline advertising experience, preferably in the non-profit sector, and demonstrated knowledge of the advertising industry
Minimum of 10 years of management experience
Degree in a related field or relative experience
Familiarity with advertising and mainstream media
Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred
Proven leadership and advertising skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Exceptional oral communication, writing, and editing skills
Willingness and ability to be on call during weekend and evening hours
Proven excellent attention to detail and project management, organizational, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
Ability to make sound judgments and work independently
Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA’s philosophy and ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
Demonstrated knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
Willingness and ability to travel
Commitment to the objectives of the organization
The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $77,000 annually. The ultimate salary within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
