Georgetown College is seeking candidates for a Director of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations. The Director has the responsibility for all College Alumni activities and leading the fundraising plan for the Annual Fund.

Established in 1829, Georgetown College is a distinguished private college in the Bluegrass region of central Kentucky, offering primarily undergraduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and professions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as College liaison to the Alumni Board and assist board members with tasks
  • Plan and implement alumni events throughout the year
  • Plan and coordinate all activities for Homecoming including the Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner
  • Coordinate Golden Tigers (Alumni 50+ years) events and communications
  • Coordinate the annual senior gift project with senior class officers
  • Assist the Admission Office, other departments, and faculty/staff on campus to identify alumni to attend events or speak to students
  • Work with the Calling and Career Center to develop and implement an alumni mentor program for current students at GC.
  • Manage Alumni/College information on alumni social media sites including X formerly Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, keep abreast of alumni updates, and engage with alumni via social channels
  • Gather information on alumni for the Alumni News section of GC Magazine and produce a monthly e-newsletter for alumni coordinating with the communications and marketing department
  • Represent the College and be available to discuss any facet of the College with alumni, parents, donors, friends of the College, and the community.
  • Maintain a portfolio and build relationships with 30 - 50 donors including personal visits and stewarding President's Club level donors ($1,000+ annually) and tracking all donor and alumni engagement in Slate.
  • Plan and implement all aspects of the Annual Fund program including creating, coordinating and managing mail and email campaigns as well as President's Club and GC Giving Day overseeing Giving Day committees both faculty/staff and student committees.
  • Actively analyze annual fund data to ensure goals for alumni giving percentage, annual fund, and other advancement strategies are met.
  • Support major campus events and engage with alumni at Move-In Day, Academic Honors Day, Hall of Fame, Song Fest, Commencement, and other high-profile events
  • Manage, hire, and supervise student workers for the advancement department including phone-a-thon workers as needed.
  • Work with VP for Advancement to manage a budget and accomplish departmental goals.

  • Education and/or Experience - Master’s degree from a college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Communications / Language - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Public speaking skills are a necessity, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
  • Mathematical - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment - Intermediate computer literacy with experience in fundraising software like Slate is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
