Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Consumer Engagement and Digital Marketing, the Director is critical in providing direct support to the VP and leadership to the Global Consumer Engagement team.

 

The Director is an expert brand builder who can navigate and manage complex brand licensing and internal/external relationships. The Director oversees the day-to-day management of our brand partners and manages the department budget and critical vendor partnerships, including the public relations and advertising agency.

 

As an extension to the Vice President, the Director will uphold the company's culture of inspiring our teams to succeed. They should be well-versed in brand marketing and communications and have a strong understanding of advertising, digital marketing, paid media, influencer marketing, social media, PR and communications, content, and licensing partnerships.

 

The Director is a dedicated and passionate individual, a natural team player and collaborator who works well under pressure, and a natural problem solver who can troubleshoot issues as they arise to mitigate potential risks.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive consumer engagement strategies in partnership with the VP to advance our brands and their respective revenue goals.
  • Manage the consumer engagement team, foster a strong team dynamic through outstanding leadership, and champion, develop, and motivate the team to drive success.
  • Day-to-day management for our brand licensing partners and their respective teams; proactive daily management to ensure that requests are met and delivered timely and to completion; offer strategy, insight, and expertise as needed
  • Manage Advertising and PR agencies; prepare briefing documents and guide media recommendations, pitching calendars, and more, ensuring accountability to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee social media and influencer marketing; proactively plan, negotiate, and execute social media strategies gifting/seeding efforts to remain competitive and raise brand profiles.
  • Manage department budget with VP; plan, update, and report accordingly; ensure budget trackers and documents are regularly updated and accurate.
  • Collaborate across marketing, sales, creative, and with internal stakeholders and leadership, regularly providing updates, expertise, and solutions to drive the business forward and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
  • Manage and support creative needs and content shoots; identify and lead creative agencies; prepare and support briefing documents, etc.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and E-Commerce to steer digital marketing agencies/partners, identify paid media needs, establish KPIs, and manage copy, assets, and briefing materials. 


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience at major brands in the beauty and fashion industry
  • Experienced manager and leader with multiple years of experience successfully managing and coaching direct reports
  • Successful track record of success in beauty and fashion marketing; can quickly speak to notable accomplishments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to nurture critical relationships; strong presenter and public speaker
  • Extensive experience managing advertising, media, and PR agencies, vendors, and partners; established and credible industry relationships with the premium publisher and editorial contacts
  • Ability to negotiate and influence decision-makers with fact-based reasoning
  • Experienced working with celebrity talent and their teams; decorum with high-level talent is necessary.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple brands simultaneously and their respective needs
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, management tools, analytics platforms, systems, etc.


Working Conditions

Location: New York Office

Work Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (On-Site), Monday & Friday (Remote)
