ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Individual Giving will manage the largest portfolio of individual major gift donors and prospects, supervise two staff members, create a stewardship plan, and develop an individual major gifts, monthly donor, and mid-level giving strategy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and education
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Proficient in computer operation using Microsoft Suite
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Public speaking experience
• Ability to problem solve quickly
• Ability to work with a variety of people and personalities
• Ability to respect confidentiality and handle money with integrity
• The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently, strategically, and collaboratively within a team environment

DUTIES:

• In partnership with the CDO, design and launch an individual major giving program with an emphasis on securing significantly more support at the levels of $5,000+.
• Develop the strategy for mid-level and monthly giving programs, to be implemented by the assigned Development Coordinator.
• Actively manage a portfolio of current and potential individual donors (i.e. $5,000+)
• Donor Relationship Management (70%): Manages relationships with major donors leading to increased financial support.
• Supervision (20%): Manages two Development Coordinators.
• Documentation and Reporting (10%): Document interactions in the donor database. Review monthly dashboard report of gift officer activity to monitor moves management.
• Through research and best practices, identify, cultivate, and solicit individuals for general operating support and endowment, rooted in The Food Bank’s case for support.
• Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to achieve annual goals.
• In conjunction with the Development team, prepare proposals, solicitation letters, and stewardship reports.
• Collaborate with the Development team to thank and steward individual donors.
• Solicit gifts from major donors and prospects independently and collaboratively with CEO, board members, and other Food Bank volunteers and staff.
• Lead the development of a budget, goals, and performance measures for building the individual major gifts program and analyzing results.
• Perform other duties and participate in special projects as needed.
• Represent the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public through visits, written and phone communications.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
