Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, Getty is seeking to recruit a talented senior investor to help manage their $9 billion portfolio. The Director of Investments will source and evaluate prospective managers, conduct due diligence, monitor existing managers, and assist with asset allocation and overall portfolio management. As a senior manager, they will invest in the team via recruiting and training and will embrace working in a collaborative and intellectually honest environment and will be expected to lead by example through unquestionable integrity, dedication, pride in quality of work product and mentorship. Major Job Responsibilities

The Director will be an integral part of the investment team and will ideally have had exposure to a wide range of asset classes. The successful candidate will take a strategic role in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring external managers, and will participate in decisions related to asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.

Additional duties include:

• Sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of investment opportunities that will provide a strategic advantage to Getty’s investment portfolio
• Conducting thorough due diligence on the most compelling prospective opportunities including analysis of investment strategy, process, organization, portfolio positions, and performance
• Remaining current on new managers and developing trends by attending conferences, annual meetings and building and maintaining a well-developed network of contacts within the investment community
• Developing strategic direction for asset class of responsibility and actively participating in asset allocation discussions on opportunities, sizing and role of asset class in the portfolio
• Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, facilitating the ongoing development of the investment team’s skillset and fostering career progression
• Working with the investment operations team to develop and maintain reports that analyze fund and portfolio-level exposures (including sector, geographic, leverage, underlying positions, etc.), risk metrics, liquidity, and performance attribution
• Collaborating with the CIO and other team members on asset allocation decisions and sharing investment knowledge as well as economic and market information
  
  

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a proven investor with at least ten years of investment experience with experience working at a family office, endowment, foundation, OCIO firm, fund of funds, or similar organization allocating capital to external investment managers. Previous direct or co-investing experience at a buy-side firm is a plus, as is public markets experience. Individuals will be selected more for their intellect, communication ability, investment acumen, and overall philosophy than for any particular background.

• Strong investment track record through complete market cycle(s)
• Strong knowledge of capital market dynamics, risk, and complex investment strategies
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present perspectives and recommendations in a clear and logical manner
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Established network of investment contacts and GP relationships; ability to access independent network for manager evaluation and reference checking purposes
• Team-oriented and willing to roll up their sleeves to contribute to the group’s common objectives
• The highest level of integrity, honesty, and sense of fiduciary duty
