Director of Philanthropy, Eastern Region
POSITION SUMMARY: uAspire is searching for a Director of Philanthropy to join a dynamic advancement team at an exciting time in the organization's history. The Director's primary responsibility is to develop a comprehensive Annual Giving program to support the organization's mission and facilitate revenue growth. This role requires a strategic thinker who can help launch new initiatives and drive the organization to new heights.
The Director will closely collaborate with high-level volunteer board committees and organizational leadership to achieve annual revenue goals. They will manage a portfolio of leadership and yearly donors, working collaboratively on donor communications and retention, event planning, strategy, and volunteer initiatives.

They will manage a portfolio of leadership and yearly donors, working collaboratively on donor communications and retention, event planning, strategy, and volunteer initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Portfolio Management and Fundraising (40%)
- Grow and manage significant and annual gift portfolios
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to build philanthropic support in the region
- Regularly engage critical prospects through face-to-face meetings
- Manage the assigned region to cultivate potential donors, assist senior leaders at events, and coordinate logistics for strategic visits
- Prepare and promptly present written and oral briefings, follow-up materials, research, and contact reports on prospects/donors as needed
- Work in concert with the CAO and other senior staff members, including department leads, to support fundraising priorities
- Acknowledge all donor contributions in a timely manner
- As needed, support the CAO in managing the board's Advancement Committee
- Leads the strategy, planning, and execution for events, including First Ones, Dream Builders, Investor meetings, and the uAspire 40th Anniversary Gala
- Collaborate with the CAO to oversee logistics for cultivation events, committee meetings, engagement with affinity alums, and donor recognition
- Develop in-person and virtual donor experiences or events to engage new and retain existing contributors
- Work with the systems and operation coordinator to ensure proper event planning and implementation, leveraging efficiencies related to fundraising and individual giving campaigns
- Collaborate with Advancement team members to plan and execute strategies to retain existing and cultivate potential donors
- Collaborate with MarComm, developing a plan to effectively market, segment, and execute digital funding appeals
- Assist in developing communications to advance donor engagement and gift recognition opportunities
- Establish bi-annual appeals, a donor recognition program with an annual solicitation strategy
- Research, share, and distribute uAspire successes via social media, alert new trends, and leverage digital resources for the advancement team
- In collaboration with the CAO, provide critical support and staffing for the Board Advancement Committee
- Work closely with key stakeholders to prepare committee agendas, organize and create PowerPoint decks /materials, and coordinate meeting invitations and follow-ups
- As needed, oversee and support high-level volunteer recruitment and management for new programming and affinity volunteer programs, and serve as point person for volunteer activities

Education, Experience & Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of development/fundraising experience with Individuals, Annual Campaigns, frontline fundraising and major gifts preferred. Social Media expertise, a plus
- Proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts of $10,000 or more
- Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.Excellent writing, organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce or equivalent CRM database. Mastery of Google Suite is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced environment, working independently, and as a member of a team
