The Director of Programs will play a critical role within the Foundation, overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Foundation’s programmatic activities. This individual will work closely with the VP of Programs and Strategy to ensure the Foundation initiatives align with its mission and strategic goals. The Director of Programs will lead a team of Program Officers and will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of grants and initiatives.
Essential Functions
Program Development
Develop and implement program strategies that align with the Foundation’s mission and goals
Work with the VP of Programs and Strategy to prioritize funding opportunities
Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and best practices in the Foundation’s focus areas
Program Management
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programmatic activities
Ensure that programs are effectively managed and deliver measurable outcomes
Lead and mentor a team of program officers, providing guidance and support in their professional development
Grantmaking
Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of grants, ensuring alignment with the Foundation strategic priorities
Review and evaluate grant proposals, conduct due diligence, and make funding recommendations
Monitor and evaluate the impact of funded programs, providing feedback and support to grantees
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with grantees, community organizations, and other stakeholders
Represent the Foundation at conferences, meetings, and public events
Facilitate collaboration and partnerships to advance the Foundation’s mission
Operational Management
Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
Prepare reports and presentations for the President/CEO and Board of Directors
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to program activities
Continuous Improvement
Implement best practices in program management and evaluation
Foster a culture of learning and innovation within the program team
Continuously assess and improve program processes and outcomes

Skills and Experience
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, grantmaking, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
