We are seeking a Director of Sales and Field Marketing to lead and develop our sales team in the dynamic and rapidly growing cannabis industry in California. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the cannabis market, proven sales leadership experience, and a passion for driving business growth, including new markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans/forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develops and manages sales/field marketing operating budgets.
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
Ensures effective control of field marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of in market objectives falls within designated budgets.
Monitors competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with cannabis industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Guides field marketing leader to ensure coverage, training, appropriate promotion, and event are executed.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
Leading, managing, and mentoring the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Develops and monitors bonus and/or commission plans to ensure goals are achieved and teams are motivated to achieve results.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven track record of success in sales leadership, preferably within the cannabis industry.
In-depth knowledge of cannabis products, market trends, and industry regulations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly in the context of cannabis products and regulations.
Ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; additional certifications or education specific to cannabis sales and regulations are advantageous.
Ability to develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth in the cannabis market.
Capability of expanding quickly into larger responsibilities as the company grows rapidly.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when needed.
