What Is The Position

The Director of Strategy & Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in supporting Edmentum's organic and inorganic growth strategies, including enhancing the profitability of existing offerings, generating business plans for the investment in and development of new revenue streams, and supporting strategic partnerships and M&A.

Leveraging data-driven insights, this role will support the development and execution across the full spectrum of corporate development efforts – from how to increase value from current offerings to assessing capabilities gaps that require partnership and/ or acquisition. This role will deeply understand the commercial dynamics of our portfolio of offerings, including working with product, sales, and marketing to drive pricing and packaging initiatives for Edmentum's products and services. They will lead the cross-functional pricing committee responsible for defining, updating, maintaining, and communicating pricing and packaging for our full set of products and services. This includes planning and directing activities to ensure the timely development and delivery of pricing initiatives to address business requirements while staying current with industry and competitor trends. This position sits within the Chief Strategy Officer organization, which includes Strategy, Product, and Marketing, and will report directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Development & Partnerships.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Product leaders to optimize growth for existing products and services
  • Support development of business cases and operating models for new revenue streams, ensuring alignment with Edmentum's strategic objectives and market opportunities
  • Conduct strategy and product fit analysis including buy/build/partner analysis
  • Support the inorganic strategy development, including evaluation, and execution of strategic M&A and partnership opportunities to enhance Edmentum's market position and growth
  • Perform thorough valuation analyses and financial modeling to evaluate the strategic and financial impact of potential transactions and partnerships
  • Perform due diligence for potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investments, incorporating detailed financial analysis
  • Assist in creating deal approval materials for internal stakeholders and private equity sponsors, including preparation of the Board materials
  • Define the Edmentum pricing strategy and manage strategic pricing initiatives
  • Develop and monitor discounting policies and provide recommendations to the Pricing Committee
  • Collaborate with internal groups – such as product management, sales operations, product marketing – as well as external constituents (e.g., partners and key customers) to translate market needs into current pricing strategies
  • Partner with product management to create comprehensive business cases for proposed product pricing and pricing changes, including market needs assessment, customer identification, financial analysis and implementation planning
  • Monitor Edmentum's core and adjacent markets, identifying key trends, market participants, and potential business opportunities

What Is Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in leading M&A transactions, from initial sourcing to integration planning
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with expertise in financial analysis, valuations, and financial modeling
  • Experience in pricing strategy development and analytics
  • Experience in K-12 educational technology industry preferred
  • Self-starter with strong leadership and project management skills, capable of leading lead cross-functional teams
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry, market, and competitive landscape
