We are seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to join our team as the Director of System Administration!
In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage a team of 3-5 system administrators, while also maintaining your technical expertise and actively contributing to critical system administration tasks. You will be a visionary leader, crafting a clear IT strategy and roadmap to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and vision for the System Administration team.
Oversee the performance and development of team members.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Technical Expertise:
Design, implement, and manage complex enterprise-grade systems.
Ensure system security, performance, availability, and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Implement new technologies and solutions to enhance IT infrastructure.
Planning & Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
Forecast IT resource needs and manage budgets effectively.
Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT initiatives support business goals.
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in system administration with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, networking concepts, and security principles.
Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and storage solutions (a plus).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
