Director of Engaged Research & Partnerships at Texas Tech University
Texas Tech University (TTU) is searching for a Director of its Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). OLLI is a unique learning community for individuals ages 50 and older. The Director of OLLI will provide leadership, vision, and oversight of OLLI at TTU in Lubbock and its affiliated sites in Fredericksburg, Highland Lakes, and Abilene. The specific responsibilities include:
• Overseeing the administration and operations of OLLI including budgeting, staffing, programming, faculty and member recruitment, policies and practices.
• Engaging in strategic planning to achieve both annual and long-term program goals.
• Providing leadership and direction to OLLI site coordinators and advisory board.
• Working collaboratively with OLLI staff and curriculum committees to plan and offer enrichment programs and activities for OLLI members at each site (including lectures, classes, cultural events, and excursions), and identify instructors and speakers.
• Raising awareness and increasing membership of OLLI at TTU through marketing, presentations to community groups, participation in civic organizations, and hosting of special events.
• Fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with TTU units and community organizations to further Texas Tech’s engagement goals.
• Developing annual budgets for each OLLI site and overseeing OLLI’s financial resources to ensure financial stability.
• Identifying grant opportunities for OLLI programming and developing grant applications.
• Representing OLLI at TTU with the Bernard Osher Foundation, alumni and civic groups, and serving as liaison to TTU departments and units.
• Staying abreast of best practices, new programming ideas, and lifelong learning trends by participating in the national network of Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes and other lifelong learning programs.
• Developing, maintaining, and updating OLLI operating policies and procedures across sites as needed.
• Collecting data for program evaluation, strategic planning, and reporting to TTU, the Osher Foundation, and other agencies.
