Global Partnerships Director—IMG Tennis Events North America

The role of the Global Partnerships Director is to be overall responsible for the execution of all sponsorships/partnerships deliverables and activation components for all North American tennis events, manage respective team members tasked with the implementation of all activations, think critically about the North American events portfolio and the sales narrative for new and existing properties, create unique opportunities for brands driven by insights and analytics, and translate ideas and insights into creative briefs.

This role is a central resource for knowledge and collaboration for the Global Partnerships team as it is a link to the many divisions in the broader Endeavor ecosystem.

The Global Partnerships Director will directly manage the Business Development Manager and the Sales Operations Coordinator as well as any temporary staff that is secured during event implementation cycles, ensuring success in their day-to-day workload and providing growth opportunities and play a lead role in each person’s career development. They will also work closely with internal teams such as Creative Services, Endeavor Analytics, and property leads to drive projects.

The Global Partnerships Director will report to the SVP, IMG Tennis Events North America.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of all Sponsorships/Partnerships deliverables and activation implementation for North America tennis events
  • Create and executive an effective management plan to service the needs of all events sponsors/partners
  • Play a major role in developing and implementing processes across the North American tennis events sales team within IMG Events
  • Devise and execute strategies around sales prospecting/categories across properties and identify activation ideas for said categories
  • Be a central resource/ connective tissue across the Endeavor flywheel to identify areas of collaboration, uncover opportunities, share knowledge
  • Conduct desk research and work with Endeavor Analytics to identify research/data gaps, develop hypotheses, and gain a more comprehensive view of the audience, category landscape, marketplace analysis
  • Translate insights and information into narratives and strategies – copywrite all content, provide creative direction, prepare creative briefs, and work collaboratively with Creative Services to drive projects
  • Promote and enforce Creative Services processes, creating workflow optimization across projects and cross discipline operations
  • Monitor and report on trends to flag new sales leads and business development opportunities
  • Assist in the improvement of Sales Operations activities by identifying and implementing process improvements, best practices, identifying methods to monitor and maintain oversight and potential enhancements
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams (event operations, consumer marketing, sales, etc.) on strategic initiatives and presentations
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Sponsorship Business Development Manager and Sales Operations Coordinator as well as any temporary staff that is secured during event implementation cycles
  • Ensure all reporting across the Business Units is up to date for CRM reporting for the US events portfolio

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and find creative solutions
  • Sports industry experience preferred
  • Possess knowledge of tennis is preferred
  • Bilingual preferred: Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Experience interfacing with high level execs/sponsors/partners
  • Experience translating research and insights into partnership strategy and presentation/ pitch storylines
  • Ability to lead research and various analyses on new opportunities and develop business plans
  • Strong ability to develop deck design and support creative solutions
  • Motivated and enthusiastic to take on new projects
  • Demonstrate commercial and cultural awareness (as dealing with multi-national companies and international events)
  • Driven to achieve success and possess the hunger and curiosity to learn and be proactive in finding and chasing leads
  • Enjoy working in a team environment with the ability to collaborate, seek feedback and build credibility through interaction with others
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, stay organized under pressure and self-direct
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of client-service deliverables without sacrificing quality
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
