What You’ll Do
In your role as a Director Supply Chain of Global Categories at Wingstop, you will be part of our success by:
Manage Supply for a spend of approximately $500+ million spanning Poultry distributed within the Wingstop Restaurant system. Accountable to meet organizational financial goals, including cost savings, purchase price variance and market advantage targets set annually. Engage internal business partners to positively influence product development or product changes based on best practice procurement processes, and leading-edge supply solutions achieved through strategic supplier relationships. Must possess strong financial analysis skills and are responsible for industry assessments, financial analysis, negotiating contracts and cost modeling. Maintain vigorous and in depth understanding of commodity markets for assigned categories. Identify new supply solutions/services required for new products or product changes not on contract, rationalizing requirements or items, and identify on-contract alternative or replacement to satisfy requirements; Identify new supplier entrants, offerings and leverage-ability for Wingstop sustainable advantage.

What You’ll Do

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Category Management
- Internal Demand Analysis - Category planning and value analysis
- Industry/Competitor Analysis-Benchmarking, Financial Metrics Analysis, and develops contingency plans to address potential impacts of events within industry
- Supply Market Analysis - multiple subcategories spread across restaurants, and finished products
- Continuous Improvement -Using Lean principles and identifying improvement opportunities by analyzing Total Cost of Ownership
- Competitive bidding using RFx protocol
- Contracting - Supply Relationship Agreements, Business Schedules, Outline Agreements & negotiations
- Adherence to corporate processes and policies
- Utilize exchange traded futures and options through the various Boards of Trade as well as through suppliers
- Commodity Buying utilizing category strategy, risk management tools while actively monitoring market and historical information to support buying decisions
- Business alignment and scenario planning of hedge coverage - aligns coverage with pricing horizon
- Monitor market fundamentals of supply/demand factors & technical analysis to adjust or renew strategies required to maintain financial reporting integrity
- Innovation-take a lead role in the discovery, implementation, execution, and tracking of innovations and cost savings projects within the Wingstop system as well as at the suppliers’ facilities utilizing a continuous improvement process
- Take lead role to support, and manage on-going supplier management strategy, including business reviews, scorecard development with relevant KPIs, benchmarking, and market condition updates in partnership with business unit leaders to drive marketplace growth
- Address and resolve issues related to material quality, price, service, and delivery
- Responsible for the implementation and coordination of supplier transitions with cross-functional teams and matrix resources tied to strategic sourcing activities (including overseeing on-line qualification trials, sample testing, and distribution testing)

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Mgmt., Business, Economics or related field, MBA preferred
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in procurement, trading, strategic sourcing or related field
- Systems proficiency with ArrowStream, Power BI, and intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to develop, analyze and negotiate business agreements
- A role at a major agricultural trading & processing firm or a CPG food company in purchasing
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate at a high level across multiple functions
- Demonstrates leadership experience in one or more of the following areas: Procurement, Cash & Futures agricultural markets, Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance
- This position requires that candidates have food procurement/agricultural commodity experience
- This Director will work closely with suppliers to improve cost, quality, and service key performance measures as well as work with the Supply Chain and Marketing teams to execute product improvement and growth initiatives
- Should show a strong understanding of operational aspects of the company from raw materials through delivery to the customer
- Working knowledge of sourcing and hedging various USDA, and CPG commodities such as protein, and ingredients
- Lean manufacturing principles and the effective implementation continuous improvement techniques
- Job requires travel time of approximately 10%
