The position:
The New Lede (www.thenewlede.org) is a news initiative of the Environmental Working Group specializing in coverage of environmental issues that are critical to the health and well-being of people everywhere. We provide investigative reporting, analysis, and explanatory articles about a broad range of environmental topics that too often are ignored or underreported by mainstream media sources, filling that gap with vital information regarding the state of our air, water, food and climate.
What you will do: Investigate, report and write articles on issues involving air and water quality, climate change, energy, agriculture and other environmental matters that impact public health and public policy. Hours range between 20-25 per week at a rate of $32 per hour.
Qualifications:
This is a part-time position that can be based remotely. This position may evolve into full-time.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a professional journalist
- Proven track record of producing scoops, in-depth profiles, investigations and other stories
- Portfolio of written, audio or video reporting reflecting skill set
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy for copy and content editing stories
- Ability to produce daily and/or weekly content as needed
- Interest and/or expertise in environmental and health news
