Job Description

THE POSITION:

The Environment Social Governance (ESG) Manager will be a subject matter expert and serve as advisor to leadership regarding all ESG areas. The role will provide strategic leadership across the organization in all countries in which EVERSANA operates and be responsible for all sustainability-relating disclosures and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Liaises with external consultants and company's Executive Leadership Team to establish a clear ESG roadmap to achieve targeted milestones and ambitions. Leads and executes both short and long-term strategies. Reports to leadership regularly on progress.
  • Works internally to inform and educate department leaders on the roles they and their teams play in ESG reporting and implementation. Leads and enlists teams of cross-functional experts and SMEs who are passionate about driving positive change through various initiatives or strategic pillars relevant to EVERSANA’s relevant ESG matters.
  • Serves as a brand ambassador for the company and clearly articulates the importance and value of company's ESG framework, policies, strategy, milestones, and achievements to various internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with external stakeholders to align respective interests. Safeguards corporate interests and resources by determining operational feasibility and cultural alignment with the company.
  • Works in partnership with marketing team to publicly communicate the company’s sustainability position, brand, and priorities.
  • Coordinates regular ESG-related activities across the organization including updating content (e.g., ESG website, marketing materials) and publishes reports on related activities, results, and milestones, including annual public-facing ESG/sustainability report.
  • Establishes sustainability targets in accordance with Science Based Targets (SBTi). Measures and tracks scopes 1,2, and 3 data and continuously seeks commercially reasonable opportunities to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain. This can be done in partnership with experts.
  • Works in concert with I&D, HR, Executive Leadership Team, and Marketing departments to incorporate EVERSANA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs and initiatives into the ESG program strategy.
  • Ensures systematic and accurate collection and reporting of key KPIs, and proactively identifies new KPIs required to meet ESG framework and standards requirements.
  • Identifies and leverages technological market solutions to efficiently compile, process, analyze, and measure data in a timely manner while supporting data-driven decisions across the company.
  • Collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders (broader ESG communities, trade groups, customers, and vendors) to learn and leverage best practices relevant to the company.
  • Anticipates and determines ESG implications and opportunities related to changes in industry, operations, corporate strategy, and cultural philosophy.
  • Stays abreast of emerging trends and/or technologies related to environmental, social, or governance-related matters.
  • Leverages EPA and other government-sponsored tools, resources, and industry (public/private) partnerships to support the identification and implementation of GHG reduction opportunities.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully function in this position.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in the research, analysis, and management of corporate sustainability programs. Familiar with government rules and regulations around the same is preferred. Global experience is a plus, as the program extends beyond North America.
  • Strong project management experience (PMP certification is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders to implement processes and technologies that reduce an organization's carbon footprint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and lead cross-functionally with all levels of the company including Senior Management and across all geographies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong public speaking skills.
  • Inquisitive and resourceful, self-motivated, strategic, and proactive, with an ability to see tasks through to completion. Comfortable operating and creating structure in new environments.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with a passion for making data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to operate independently through a start-up environment.
  • Ability to understand the total scope of business while executing tasks.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly in a fast-paced team environment.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The physical and mental requirements along with the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

Office: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
