Our client, a God-centered non-profit organization that provides vocational and residential services for adults with disabilities, has an opportunity for an Executive Director. This role provides the overall leadership, management, strategic vision, and accountability for results for the organization.
Position Summary:
- Leads the executive team and is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization to establish and maintain effective operations and continuous development.
- Accountable to the Board of Directors, staff and citizens to establish, implement, and maintain effective programming and administrative operations.
- This position reports to the Board of Directors and represents the organization with donors, families, community leaders and partner organizations.
- Must have an entrepreneurial spirit with the strategic skills to envision what the organization can become and the operational management capabilities to make it a reality.
- This Director will need a caring heart to ensure the organization's citizens are living a meaningful life and provide spiritual leadership for the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in non-profit or similar management and fundraising capacity, in progressively responsible roles
- Demonstrated success leading an organization and motivating others
- Experience working with a community-based organization, preferably with exposure to adults with disabilities programs
- Strategic thinker, with the ability to research, design/develop, integrate, implement, and sustain programs, projects, and ideas related to the business of the organization.
- Working knowledge and experience in the Austin philanthropic and business communities preferred; ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with these resources, including those at senior levels
- Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships and work effectively with a wide variety of constituencies, including staff, current and potential donors, Board members, and community partners
