Executive Director for Alumni and Constituent Engagement

Location: Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas

The Executive Director for Alumni and Constituent Engagement is a dynamic and experienced leader who helps enhance connections with alumni, parents, and friends worldwide. The Executive Director plays a crucial role in advancing the college's mission by fostering lifelong relationships that support institutional goals through engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropy.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni, parent, and key constituent engagement strategy aligned with the college's strategic priorities.
    • Lead, inspire, and manage a team responsible for alumni engagement, parent programs, and related activities.
  • Alumni and Constituent Engagement:
    • Cultivate and nurture relationships with Hendrix College alumni through targeted outreach, events, and communications.
    • Develop and oversee alumni chapter programs and initiatives both locally and globally.
    • Engage parents and other key constituents in meaningful ways to strengthen their connection with Hendrix College.
    • Develop programs and events that foster a sense of community and support among parents and constituents.
  • Fundraising and Philanthropy:
    • Collaborate with the advancement team to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects among alumni, parents, and constituents.
    • Implement strategies to increase alumni giving and participation rates.
  • Communication and Marketing:
    • In consultation with College Communications, oversee the development and distribution of compelling communications and marketing materials targeted at alumni, parents, and constituents.
    • Utilize various platforms and technologies to enhance engagement and stewardship efforts.
  • Volunteer Management:
    • Recruit, train, and support Alumni Association Board of Governors members and educate, inform and inspire them to serve as ambassadors and advocates for the college.
    • Coordinate volunteer efforts in fundraising campaigns, admissions activities, and career networking initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Partnership:
    • Work collaboratively with other departments across the college to integrate alumni and constituent engagement into broader institutional initiatives.
    • Build partnerships with academic departments, student affairs, athletics, and other areas to enhance alumni involvement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize data analytics to measure engagement metrics, track progress, and inform strategic decisions.
    • Prepare regular reports and assessments on the effectiveness of alumni and constituent engagement efforts.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or related fields, preferably in higher education or nonprofit settings.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, team leadership, and relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and practices, including major gifts and annual giving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse constituencies.
  • Experience in volunteer management and event planning.
  • Proficiency with CRM databases and engagement platforms.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Hendrix College.
