Position: Accounting Specialist (General Ledger)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite/Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract to Hire


About the Role:

Join a dynamic team as an Accounting Specialist (General Ledger). This role focuses on the preparation of general ledger entries and account reconciliation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain amortization schedules for designated areas.
  • Review financials to identify any missing invoices within assigned areas.
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, ensuring reconciliation of general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and verify general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  • Support the Supervisor in General Ledger operations.
  • Develop and maintain manual procedures and related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 4 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Preferred knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and GAAP.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is an advantage.
